Dr. Franklin H. Meyer is a life-long resident of Eden, New York. He attended the State University of New York at Buffalo for his undergraduate work and received his dental degree from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, California in 1980.  After short associations with other area dentists and while working at the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation Dental Clinic, Dr. Meyer opened his own practice in 1982 at the present site.  Dr. Meyer sold his practice to Dr. Kirsten Riester in 2016 and Eden Family Dental, PLLC was created.

A member of the American Dental Association, Dental Society of the State of New York, the Eighth District Dental Society, and the Erie County Dental Society;  Dr. Meyer is also active in the Southtowns Dental Study Club and the UB Implant Study Club. He is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

On the local level, he is a member of the Eden Chamber of Commerce, serves as an alternate on the Town of Eden Planning Board, and previously was a member of the town’s Historic Review Board.

An avid and skilled marksman, Dr. Meyer belongs to a number of black powder target shooting organizations and has competed world wide since the 1990s. He currently is active in the North-South Skirmish Association. He also enjoys kayaking, hiking and camping; he is a third degree black belt in Kempo Karate.

Dr. Meyer is the seventh generation of his mother’s family to live in Eden. His father was a physician in Eden from 1947 to 1993.  Dr. Meyer and his wife, Linda, reside in the family homestead with ‘Charlie,’ the cat.
